Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard announced on Tuesday the launch of the Level Up Guaranteed Income Pilot Program.

The program, also known as Level Up, is a lottery that will provide 200 households - single or families - with a guaranteed monthly income of by providing $500 per month for 12 months - totaling $6,000 for the year.

The mayor says monthly money is to help address the economic insecurity faced by residents in the city.

"In a time where families are being impacted by inflation and as they sit around the kitchen table trying to figure out how they're going to address the rising cost of food, transportation, gas, housing, child care, and a myriad of issues we wanted to make sure that we just do a little peace to help them make ends meet,” says Mayor Patterson-Howard 

To be eligible for this program, you must be over 18, with an income ranging from $15,000 to $80,000, depending on the size of your family.
