Police say that the gunmen who fatally shot a 20-year-old in Mount Vernon on Easter are still on the loose.
Jovelle Stewart was sitting in a car in front of 141 North High St. around 3:30 p.m. when a car pulled up and fired several shots, according to police.
One of the bullets hit Stewart in the head, and he died before making it to the hospital.
Police say the shooting was not an accident, and that Stewart, one of seven children, was not a random victim.
"I can assure the community this was not a random act and we are following any number of leads," says Robert Kelly, of the Mount Vernon Police Department.
