Mount Vernon got into the holiday spirit with its eighth annual Easter basket giveaway.
Nonprofit organization
Agatha House hosted the event, which featured egg hunts, face painting, cotton candy and balloons.
“Everyone will get one egg and get to paint the egg. We have some really cool stickers like Spider-Man, Disney and Paw Patrol,” said organizer Jeanette Joseph.
Attendees also had the opportunity to take photos with the Easter Bunny.
“We’re surrounded by three family shelters, so that’s one of the places where we sent the invitation to,” said Joseph. “It’s hard for those parents to be able to get Easter baskets filled with toys and candy. This is something special for the children to have.”
