The mother of a Newburgh man convicted on terrorism charges spoke to News 12 today after an HBO documentary this week highlighted the Newburgh Four's entrapment defense.
"The Newburgh Sting" highlights the FBI's investigation into Dan Williams and three others. The men were arrested in 2009 and convicted for allegedly plotting with a confidential informant to bomb synagogues in the Bronx and shoot down military planes.
Elizabeth Williams says her son, David Williams, was duped by the FBI and its undercover informant.
A federal appeals court denied the Newburgh Four's entrapment claims that they were motivated by money rather than terrorism.
The Newburgh Four are currently serving 25-year prison sentences and their attorneys have filed Supreme Court appeals.
