A Yonkers woman has been indicted on murder charges for allegedly tossing her newborn baby out of a window in the Bronx.

Police say Jennifer Berry, 33, gave birth to a baby girl in her boyfriend's Bronx apartment and then threw the newborn infant out of a seventh-floor window on Sept. 29.

The New York Daily News reports that according to court documents, Jennifer Berry told investigators that the girl was "grayish" and didn't appear to be breathing. The medical examiner said the baby died from blunt force trauma in the fall, meaning she was born alive.

Authorities said Berry's family and friends didn't know she was pregnant.

Berry was in court Tuesday and pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and manslaughter. She is also being investigated for the death of another child in 2008. AP wire were used in this report
