Kmart is closing more stores and set to have only six remaining locations in the continental U.S. by the end of the year, including locations in Avenel and Westwood.
Kmart is owned by Sears, which purchased the chain out of bankruptcy in 2005.
The chain has struggled to find workers needed to keep the doors open.
Most of the soon-to-be shuttered stores will close just before the holiday shopping season.
