The Monroe-Woodbury Central School District is responding to health and safety concerns after dozens of seniors gathered for photos without masks on the first day of school.
Superintendent Elsie Rodriguez says the teens were spotted on high school grounds Tuesday afternoon and asked to leave since they were not following safety requirements.
The district opened Tuesday on a fully remote schedule.
Rodriguez says she's disappointed by the students' behavior, and hopes this will serve as a teachable moment.
