A dispute between a developer and an Orange County mayor became physical Wednesday.
The mayor of Monroe, John Karl III, went to a construction site at a home inside Orchard Hill Estates and apparently got into a confrontation with developer Abe Goldberger over water use at the site.
After their discussion became heated, Karl reportedly pushed a crowbar against Goldberger's chest. Goldberger, a Hassidic Jew, purportedly fell over as a result of the contact.
State police would not confirm details of the incident, saying an investigation is underway. No arrests have been made.
