A group of pint-size baseball fans from the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club celebrated their favorite game at the Jacobs Javits Convention Center Friday during the All-Star ?Fanfest?.
The Boys and Girls Club members were invited by Major League Baseball to take part in the event, which attracted fans from around the country.
The kids got a chance to see baseball stars in person and practice pitching techniques they?ve never tried before.
"Everything's not in the Bronx,? says Harold Maldonado, of the Boys and Girls Club. ?There's a big world, and they're doing something they won?t do again.?
But this is not the end of All-Star fun for the Bronx kids. MLB has distributed more than 2,000 tickets to the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club, which will give some children a chance to be at Yankee Stadium for Tuesday night's All-Star game.
