Minority, women-owned businesses thriving in Westchester County as result of 2018 program

Minority and women-owned businesses in Westchester County celebrated a milestone on Wednesday.

The groups surpassed $250 million being awarded to registered businesses from a county program that began in 2018, according to Westchester County Executive George Latimer.

Westchester County is celebrating a milestone for minority and women-owned businesses.

Business of Your Business president Wiley Harrison told News 12 the money he received allowed him to be able to diversify his staff.

"We actually higher more than 50% of the following groups: minority, uneducated, disabled and seniors, he said. “So, when you guys help us, you guys help them.”
