Bensonhurst in Brooklyn was particularly hit hard during Tuesday's storm.
The National Weather Service says the storm was the result of a microburst, which is when the wind moves in the same direction as the rain.

That microburst took down dozens of trees and power lines with winds of up to 70 mph. The storm came in at around 3:30 p.m.
Despite the extensive damage, the FDNY says only one person suffered a minor injury when a branch hit them in the shoulder. Con Edison reported no power outages.

Cleanup crews continued throughout Wednesday to clear the Bay Ridge Parkway.
