The Police Emerald Society of Westchester was back in Hastings-On-Hudson Sunday for the village's annual Memorial Day Parade.
The society's pipers marched side-by-side with police, firefighters and veterans as the community gathered to honor those who gave their lives in defense of their country. A fan favorite in Hastings, the Police Emerald Society of Westchester comprises 39 pipers and 18 drummers.
Other performers were the Dixie Dandies band, which was followed by the Southside Athletic Club of Hastings, many members of which are U.S. veterans.
The parade also paid tribute to the village's other uniformed men and women, such as emergency workers who serve in the police and fire departments.
