Medical school seniors across the country and in the Hudson Valley on Friday celebrated the annual tradition of "Match Day."

New York Medical College senior Victoria Giordani learned Friday that she will be receiving her residency training at NYU. It's her first choice, and her family traveled from Haiti to enjoy the big news with her.

This year's Match Day at NYMC included 190 students, their parents and, in some cases, their children.

The students will eventually enter the fields of internal medicine, anesthesiology and radiology, to name a few. But for now, nearly half of them will carry out their residency training within New York state.
