There are many reasons to be thankful this year if you're a Meals-on-Wheels volunteer or one of their grateful recipients.
Marry Applegate and her team in New Rochelle are reporting a lighter load of deliveries this Thanksgiving. There were about 40 compared to the usual 60, "which makes us feel better because that means they're with their families,” Applegate says.
Additionally, residents are starting to warm up a little more to visitors now that COVID restrictions are a little more relaxed.
Applegate still hopes that eventually they will be able to return to the previous practice of spending time inside with their beloved clients.
