The mayor of Poughkeepsie says seven people were shot in the past 48 hours in the area.
Poughkeepsie Mayor Robert Rolinson says five people were shot on Friday morning - and two more people were shot Saturday night.
The shootings seem to have one common thread.
"Most of this is related to gang violence, rivalry between crews. Sometimes it's between parts of the city and other cities within our region," says Rolinson.
On Friday, a cache of weapons was also confiscated after the five people, who arrived on a private bus from Albany, were shot.
All of the victims are expected to survive, but police say they have few leads to go on.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Poughkeepsie Police Department.
