Joey Chestnut is going to compete - no matter what - Champion competitive eater Joey Chestnut says he’s preparing for the Fourth of July hot dog eating competition in Brooklyn - no matter what. Representatives from Major League Eating say they aren't sure yet whether the beloved chow championship will take place. Whether it’s an actual contest, a virtual contest, a socially distanced contest or no contest at all, on July 4, he plans to put on a show.
A Connecticut nurse is the lucky winner of a kitchen remodeling contest:  Express Kitchens announced the winner of their Mothers in Healthcare $10,000 Kitchen Makeover Saturday. Nicole Bobko, a nurse at Stamford Hospital, was shocked when she saw a fleet of cars, trucks, fire engines and loved ones show up to show support for her and her family. This year has been extremely challenging for Bobko because her husband died and she just recently had a baby.
A deck collapse caused by a kiddie pool forced an evacuation in MonseyA deck collapse at a Monsey home broke a gas line as it crashed to the ground on Saturday afternoon. First responders say gas and electric meters were ripped from the home and neighbors were told to evacuate. West Central Avenue was shut down while the gas was shut off. Officials believe a large, blue kiddie pool is to blame
15 families were displaced after a fire destroyed five Paterson homes - More than a dozen families were displaced after a six-alarm fire ripped through five multi-family homes in Paterson. The fire happened Saturday night on Beech Street. The flames were so large that crews from nearby departments, including Hawthorne and Haledone, were need to help put it out.
