Domestic diva Martha Stewart is planning to trademark the name Katonah for a line of furniture, however, some in the Katonah community are not happy with the idea.

Trade marking the name Katonah would limit its use for others. Local business owners say they fear they could be sued if they use Katonah in their names. In an effort to make peace, Bedford resident Stewart brought along homemade treats to a meeting at the Katonah Public Library this week.

There is talk of compromise over the trademark issue, but despite the chocolate chip cookies, there's also talk of a lawsuit. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is giving opponents extra time to decide if they want to formally challenge the request.
