A manhunt is underway for a person suspected of setting a Poughkeepsie house on fire with two people inside.

Officials are now confirming this was an act of arson.       

The flames devoured the home on South Clinton Street in Poughkeepsie early Thursday morning.

The two people inside both escaped unharmed.

Investigators are looking at video that appears to show a man walking up to the house with two gas cans, splashing the liquid on the front porch, and igniting it.
