Mount Vernon police are asking for the public's help identifying a motorcyclist involved in a hit-and-run that involved a 4-year-old child.

Police say the incident happened just before 7:30 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of South Third Avenue.

Authorities say the crash involved a 4-year-old, one of the child's relatives and the motorcyclist.

Investigators are now searching for a black-and-white motorcycle.

Police say the bike has the words "Lucky Strike" inside a black circle on its side.

The rider was wearing all black clothing and black-and-white Nike sneakers, according to police.

Anyone with information about the crash or the motorcyclist is asked to contact the Mount Vernon Police Department.
