A professor and artist at Manhattanville College in Purchase is using his skills to help medical professionals on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.
Justin Capalbo has created a face shield, designing it using 3D printing technology at the college.
Dozens will be shipped to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, and to some medical facilities in Westchester.
The professor says creating the device hits close to home since this mother works on a COVID-19 unit at Syosset Hospital on Long Island.
Capalbo says the face shields take about 1 ½ hours to make and have been medically approved.
