A prominent Yonkers developer is suing his wife, saying she attempted to kill him while he was sleeping in their mansion so she could be with her lover of two years.

Neighbors watched last year as police took Kenneth Dearden to the hospital with gunshot wounds in the back of his head after the ordeal. His wife, Emily, was treated on the scene with minor head wounds.

Dearden claims his wife, who is an NYPD psychologist, tried to shoot him execution-style and make it look like a home invasion. He says she was having an affair.

Mrs. Dearden claims in a countersuit that her husband's allegations are desperate lies in the wake of her decision to divorce him.
