A man was successfully rescued after falling nearly 100 feet into a cave in Ulster County.

The incident occurred while he was working to clear tree limbs from power lines on Hickory Bush Road in Rosendale.

He was struck by a falling branch, which led to his fall into a natural cave below.

Multiple response teams worked for over an hour to extract the man from the cave. He was then transported to a hospital where he is expected to recover fully.
