Authorities in the Town of Newburgh are searching for a group of suspects in an armed home invasion last week that began with a man posing as an Amazon driver.
The ordeal unfolded Feb. 28 at 5:40 p.m. on Fletcher Drive, according to Town of Newburgh police.
Authorities say the suspect wore an Amazon vest and was holding a package when he knocked at the door stating a signature was required. When the victim opened the door, police say the man pushed himself into the residence while displaying a firearm and that at least three other armed and masked suspects stormed in.
The suspects demanded cash and put the residents in the basement, according to police.
Authorities say no one was hurt and the suspects fled the scene.
A representative for Amazon tells News 12 that the company is cooperating with law enforcement. They say drivers will never ask for a signature unless that method of delivery is pre-planned by a recipient.
