A man in Mamaroneck nearly drove off the edge of an unmarked dead-end ramp Sunday.
The ramp is located in a lot marked "additional parking" outside the Hommocks Ice Rink.
Steve Hoffenberg, a 73-year-old Greenwich native, was at the rink to see his grandson's hockey game. He was told to follow the signs for additional parking.
"So I went through, made a left-hand turn and my car was going up the hill and all of a sudden it stopped," he says.
Hoffenberg says he carefully slipped out of the car. A tow truck later pulled his car to safety.
Hoffenberg says he doesn't plan on taking legal action against the town and just wants the ramp safely roped off.
