A man was killed in a car crash early Friday morning on the Palisades Parkway.
New York State Police responded to the crash around 2 a.m. in Clarkstown.
Authorities say the car was traveling southbound on the parkway when it left the roadway off the shoulder near Exit 7 before striking a tree.
The driver of the vehicle, 30-year-old Brooklyn resident Gustavo Merino-Moreno, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the police.
