An elderly man was found dead in his Orangeburg home, and his wife is now fighting for her life.
The couple's daughter found them passed out in their home at around 10 a.m.
Police say that when they arrived at Blue Hills Commons, they smelled gas and noticed that the stove was still on.
The 85-year-old man was already dead, and his 84-year-old wife was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Crews from O & R evacuated the building, and encouraged residents to keep their windows open.
Police wouldn't say whether the deaths were caused by carbon monoxide poisoning or if it is considered suspicious.
