Police are on the hunt for a driver who is wanted for leading officers on a wild chase in Northern Westchester.
Croton-on-Hudson officers say the chase started at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday along Albany Post Road in Buchanan when the driver of an SUV refused to pull over during a routine traffic stop.
During the chase, the runaway driver suddenly slammed on his brakes, causing the police cruiser to slam into the back of the SUV. Cops say that's when the driver jumped out of his car, while it was still moving, and took off on foot. Police in neighboring towns, as well as Westchester County Police Aviation and New York State Police, were called in to help in the search.
Police looked for the driver for about 90 minutes, but never found him. No officers were hurt in the crash and the search for that driver continues.
