A man died in fire overnight in Highland Mills.

Fire officials say flames broke out at a home at 999 Route 32 around 4:30 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy fire on the second floor.

Several departments from surrounding areas, including Woodbury, Monroe, Cornwall, Washingtonville, Vails Gate, South Blooming Grove, and West Point, assisted in extinguishing the blaze.

The identity of the victim has not been released yet.
