A man suspected of beating another man to death with a pipe in Newburgh has been arrested, according to police.
Accused killer Alvaro Ramos-Lopez said nothing Tuesday as he was led out of Newburgh City Court in handcuffs and shackles.
Police say the 26-year-old used a metal pipe to beat 40-year-old Armando Soriano-Martel to death Friday outside of El Rey Del Pollo Bar.
They say the two were drinking inside the bar and that the beating unfolded outside.
Officials say witnesses identified Lopez, who allegedly ran off before authorities got to the scene. He was found Monday in Mt. Pleasant, where police say the alleged killer was hiding out with family.
Lopez pleaded not guilty and is being held without bail in Orange County Jail. Alvaro Ramos-Lopez will be back in Newburgh City Court Friday.
