Police say a Bronx man is under arrest for dragging two police officers with his car during an illegal street race in Westchester last fall.
Authorities say Officer Luke Oliveri and Sgt. Michael McGuinn stopped suspected racer Nathan Irizarry, 38, of the Bronx, on Route 117 in Mount Pleasant last November. After the stop, investigators say Irizarry sped off, dragging the officers for nearly 50 feet.
McGuinn suffered several broken ribs, and Oliveri needed several stitches on the back of his head from being dragged on the pavement.
Irizarry was charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer. Police say he has had no prior record.
