This week, we've been having a lot of fun traveling around the main streets we have in the Hudson Valley and today Lisa la Rock is at a deli in Elmsford where you can enjoy music and a meal and really the power of Lisa is so strong, Lisa, you were able to get bands that normally play at night to join us this morning. Yep. Yep. That's right. I mean, it's such a great venue for local bands from kids who are just starting out to bands who have some experience, like the ones I'm about to introduce you. This is the side Cars band. A tribute to the Cars. Thanks so much for joining us. This is Joe Leo. You got to love playing at a place like this. This place is great. They support local live music and so do we. So we're very happy to be down here supporting this event and you were watching earlier where, you know, we had the kids playing and it's, it's a nice kind of experience, a great way for young musicians to get some experience. Absolutely. And I think they're doing a great thing and that's what it's all about just keeping the next generation moving forward, live music, keeping live music alive and that's what they're all about here at Carmine's Deli great concept. This week, we have been traveling up and down main streets here in the Hudson Valley. And today Lisa Larocca is at a local deli in Elmsford. Lisa, you can enjoy music and even get a meal. But I got to say, I'm surprised that you don't have a coffee in your hand. Like in the past, you've been tasting so many wonderful things. I'm surprised you haven't had a bite to eat yet. I know. You know what I am so into the amazing music we've been listening to all morning. I haven't, the whole eating thing is like secondary but a lot of other folks are doing just that. Let's show you who's here. Good morning everybody. We are at Carmines Italian Deli in Elmsford. This really is a hidden gem off the beaten path. They are showing, they have live music every Friday and Saturday night. It's incredible. Look at this stage, what's really great is that they're giving local young artists a chance to perform as well. So let me introduce you to Zaida Rio and fam. Thanks for coming in guys this morning. Thanks for having us. They were playing between the commercial. I gotta tell you really amazing. And so all of you kind of hooked up. You're all at White Plains High School, there's a songwriters club now. Two of you are in college, two of you are still at the high school. That's a, that's a great thing to tell me a little bit about getting to perform here. What's it like? Well, we started performing here last summer in August and we didn't know what to expect, but honestly, Cars is such an inviting place for us, musicians, especially teenagers and it really kick started fam. Um, and we're just so grateful to be able to perform here. We're grateful for Joe for asking us to be here and we're always happy to come back and perform for everybody. And it has definitely been quite a fun week traveling around Westchester and the Hudson Valley as part of our main street series. Today. Lisa Lara is joining us from Elmsford and Lisa. I got the blues. What should I do about it? I got the cure for your Blue Sarah. I got bacon. I got eggs and I got music. What's better than that? We're Carmines Italian Deli in Elmsford. I did say Deli who thought that could be one of the hottest music venues here in Westchester. Good morning, everybody. We got a full house here, everybody coming to hang out with us here and we have, you just look at this place. What a great concept. So Friday and Saturday nights they have music with talented local musicians like this guy. This is Adam Power. Thanks so much for being here. So again, really great idea from a musician standpoint. What do you think about this whole concept? I think it's genius in a way. Yeah, I mean, good food and good music, you know, and good people. That's the perfect combination. Yeah. And it's, I mean, it's a great kind of intimate setting. So, you know, that you're getting true music fans, which for, you know, those of you who are up on stage has to be really nice. Yes, indeed. People are definitely into the music. They come here for that. Yeah. Yeah. And you kind of get an eclectic mix here as well. Yeah. The Blues Little Motown, uh, maybe even some Irish music. They do it, they do it all here. Right. So, all right. I want to give everybody a chance to really hear you play. So tell, just give us a little background about you before you, before we send you off, I started playing guitar when I was 17, um, played a lot of different musics and wedding bands and stuff like that. And I rediscovered the blues. So I decided to start over as a musician in a sense and relearn the music that really is the most important to me as an African American. All right, Adam Power. Of course, it has been a very fun first week traveling around Westchester in the Hudson Valley as part of our mainstream Hudson Valley series. Today, our Lisa Lara is at a deli in Elmsford. But when it comes to this deli, I don't know if I get a bacon egg and cheese or if I put in a special request. What do I, what do I do here, Lisa? Both. You do both and let me tell you something, guys, it's not even Joe. We were just talking about this. It's not even just deli food because when this place at night turns into a music venue you guys have and let me introduce you to Rob and Joe. They're the brains behind all of this. You have a full menu. It's a cafe, you have a bar, a full bar, all that kind of stuff, right? Yeah. When, when, when we do the Friday and Saturday night music, Rob has a whole cafe menu, right? So you're going to get like a real cafe experience and um, you know, we serve beer and wine with, with, with, you know, because it's really about the music. So, you know, it's not a place for people to come and get liquored up and we got to kick them out. It's not that kind of place. Right. It's the kind of place you come here and you enjoy the music, you enjoy the show and you, and you really partner up with a lot of local bands and give them the chance to come and perform. Well, you know, we do a lot of stuff with the kids. We give them opportunities. We have a lot of local bands, but I have a lot of relationships like, uh, you know, Courtland Gray at PV, helped me. They sent us a bunch of gear, right. You know, to, to help us get it started. People at Sennheiser send us gear and all my buddies. I, you know, I'm good friends with a lot of Gary Hoe and David Ellison from mega death and, uh, Doug from living color. They're all gonna be coming and helping me out to, to, you know, get the place going. And, um, and, uh, the guys from Outrage Studios, Joe Leo has been great. He's given us gear, everybody. It's a community. We're trying to create a musical hub. That's what we're really trying to do here. Right. So that's where the fun, it's just fun. Music is supposed to be fun. And now aside from being in the kitchen, you also play too. Yeah, I like to sing and dance, play harmonica, little saxophone and it's just so much fun up there and to see the transfer of energy from engaging the crowd and that flows right to us and it just gets higher and higher. It's a lot of fun. And, you know, I grew up this way. I grew up in a big Italian family. My grandmother lived with us, six kids, mother, father, there was always a couple of guests at the table. Monday through Monday. We never went out to dinner once she made everything. I think when somebody brought home like a box of Ronzoni, once we were shaking it like like aliens, what do we do with this? She goes, don't worry about it. Right in the garbage. So this is really all your passion. It was a party almost every night and there was a lot of music in my family who was always singing. So it's basically this is an extension of our dinner table. I love it. I love it. So just gotta check out over there the stage we're going to have this all morning. So stay with us. This is Adam Power and we're at Carmine's Italian Deli in Elmsford. Mhm.
