Mike Annunziata, of Mahopac, is renovating a childhood home his father built by hand nearly four decades after it was sold.
Annuziata’s father, Ettore, passed away last year. Shortly after his death, Annuziata who lives nearby realized his father’s former house was in foreclosure.
News 12 is told the Mahopac resident decided to use his inheritance to fix it up as a family keepsake and to use the house as an Airbnb rental property.
“I think about what he’d tell me to do, and I remember things he taught me,” says Annunziata. “I try to apply that with everything I’m doing here. He did a lot of construction. I don’t do as much, but I did learn a lot of stuff from him.”
Annunziata believes his father would be proud of the purchase and says the process has made him feel closer to his parents.
