Small Business Saturday is this week, and News 12 is highlighting some small local businesses you can check out.
In Westchester, you can support two local entrepreneurs at a one-stop shop!
Lauren Morris is the owner of Loola Doola Boutique, which she says provides customers with a "loft experience" in the heart of White Plains.
She's been in business since 2010, and the boutique moved to 187 Martine Ave. during the pandemic.
During that time, Morris taught herself how to sew and she now handmakes her own handbags for her "Best of Westchester" winning brand - Lauren - M Handbags. "Instead of a mass production, it’s on a little smaller scale. But it's more unique because I design and make them myself," says Morris.
Also at this location is Morris’s business partner Stacy Thomas. She's a published author and has her own line of skin care products that are sold at the boutique – I Design Beauty. "So everything is all natural, all natural skin care, hair care and soy candles. It's really about creating a spa atmosphere," says Thomas.
If you stop by Loola Doola Saturday, Morris says you'll be greeted with wine and cheese and can get in on some deals - like 20% off on clothing and handbags. Plus, Thomas says you'll get a "gift with purchase" -- travel sizes of her skin care products.
