well today, of course we're on Storm Watch tracking winter weather moving into the Hudson Valley parts of Orange County could get up to five inches of snow. So that's why Deputy Commissioner of Emergency services, alen Mak is here live with us right now to talk more about the weather. Thanks so much for being with us. Hey, thank you for having me on. Good morning. Alright, let's begin with the preparations. How are you and your crew is getting ready for the storm? Yeah, so preparation, the DPW guys have obviously positioned their snowplows and get ready for that. There was salt on the road from yesterday's storm, it's still there. So that's sort of a pre treatment and they've mixed up all their salt and brine mix for treating the roads today and plowing and other than that, we've talked to the the municipal leaders and we have all of our towns and villages and we've asked about potential cooling centers. So we've got track of those if there is a need for that. And of course we've talked with our three utility companies, you know, Orange and Rockland Central Hudson nice egg and make sure we're all hand in hand in us now because of the milder weather, we haven't really gotten hit that hard with a lot of snow, especially in your area. Were you able to do some maintenance on those trees, talk a little bit more about that because the warmer weather kind of gives us an advantage to get rid of some of that debris and waste right. And one of the first things that we did was clear storm drains because with the amount of precipitation will probably get, especially with the snow than rain. We get a lot of local flooding, especially in the city of Newburgh. You know, some of the road intersections get Get filled up in basements, a lot of what they call pump outs and then out west in the county and Myers Grove, Port Jervis area along the never sink. So we have to clear all that up. And then the utilities have been proactive clearing back. I think about 10 ft on either side of the their power lines try to reduce the number of outages when it comes to drop limbs. Yeah, that's so that's some welcome news putting the warmer weather to good use to try and get ahead of this Deputy Commissioner of Emergency Services.
