Lights go out in Co-op City

? Some residents in Co-op city temporarily lost power Friday during what may have been a power grid test. The outage occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. and affected 28 buildings, along with some businesses.

? Some residents in Co-op city temporarily lost power Friday during what may have been a power grid test.
The outage occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. and affected 28 buildings, along with some businesses. Employees at one barber shop said they lost electricity for about an hour, which hurt their bottom line and they simply couldn?t do anything during that time.
News 12 The Bronx spoke with the office of Councilman Larry Seabrook to get answers. The office said that Riverbay, the company that owns property in Co-op City, performed an electrical grid test Friday. Riverbay has confirmed that it did experience some type of outage.
Residents in the area say they were annoyed that an announcement about the possible grid test was not made.
Power has since been restored.
