Light snow is possible as we work into later parts of Wednesday, potentially adding a festive flourish to celebrations.
As the ball drops so will the temperatures, well below freezing. This means any of the light snow that does fall (likely between a coating and an inch) will become slick and slippery.
The timing on the snow looks to be beginning in the evening and continuing into earliest parts of Thursday.
We will ring in the New Year with temperatures that are cold and feel frigid due to the slight breeze with light snow to start. Make sure you are bundled if you're heading out.
Snow will taper off early on Thursday, and eventually we will see the return of sunshine into the afternoon.
