Personal trainers in Westchester are coming together in support of a Yonkers man who suffered a stroke.
Lou Turchiano, of Yonkers, had a stroke back in December. As a result, 64 year-old suffered a brain aneurism that has impaired his memory, speech and motor skills.
His family ice business in the Bronx is now in the hands of the couple's two eldest children, 21-year-old Louie and his sister, Kristina. However, their newfound responsibilities have been a struggle, both financially and emotionally.
Friends held a fundraiser in Bronxville Sunday, with raffle prizes donated by local businesses.
The Lift for Lou fundraiser was organized by Pay Fit Forward, a local fundraising team lead by one of Lou's son's best friends, Frankie D'Agastino.
D'Agastino says Turchiano is his inspiration because he is a loving father and husband, and the hardest working man he knows.
