Police have arrested Leonard Salters, of Highland Falls, for allegedly killing his wife on Friday night.
Police say the two got into a heated argument and then Salters stabbed his 62-year-old wife to death in their apartment on Fort Putnam Street.
They say Salters, 51, drove off, but was later found by authorities on Saturday after crashing his car in Irvington, N.J.
Salters is currently being treated for his injuries and will then be extradited from New Jersey to Orange County to face murder charges.
Neighbors tell News 12 that the couple had been married for 10 years. "She was always a very low key person, very polite. My deepest condolence for them and may God bless them," says Johnny Mott, of Highland Falls.
The tragedy appears to be the second killing in the family. Junco's brother, Terry Camper, was killed by his wife and her lover in a murder-for-money plot two years ago.
