Car dealerships will be no longer allowed to park cars on public streets in Yonkers after many voiced complaints.

Council President Mike Khader says residents across the city reached out to him, saying they couldn't find parking on their own street because dealerships were taking up spots.

New legislation unanimously passed the council, making it illegal for car dealerships to park vehicles in public spaces.

If a dealership continues to park in public spaces, they will be issued a ticket.
