Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski is asking the state for a top to bottom review of the Department of Motor Vehicles in West Haverstraw.

With only one DMV located in Rockland County, residents says the long lines have made them furious.

"It's over 10 or 12 hours in total," says Nathaniel, of Suffern. He says he went to the office in West Haverstraw to get his motorcycle permit and had to come back a second day because of long lines.

Officials said in a statement, "As of July of this year, the vast majority of customers at the Haverstraw location were serviced in under 60 minutes, and half waited only 30 minutes."

Zebrowski suggested expanding online services, mobile vans and maybe adding an additional Rockland office or satellite office.

"It has just got to the point here where people are frustrated and can't wait anymore," he says.

Officials claim customers can also make an appointment to skip the line.

More traffic is expected at the DMV in the the near future when New York is slated to become Real ID compliant in 2020. Real ID will be required on driver's licenses in order to board a domestic flight or enter military bases.

The state DMV says they continue to streamline processes every day to service customers more efficiently.
