Rep. Mike Lawler has proposed legislation to fight swatting attacks in schools.
Swatting is when someone makes a prank call to 911 to get a large, sometimes dangerous police response.
Lawler says anyone who makes swatting calls to schools should get up to 20 years in prison.
He says more than 500 schools across the country were targes in the last year, including several in the Hudson Valley.
