A large snake was spotted slithering around the Town of Clarkstown in Rockland County.

A large snake was spotted slithering around the Town of Clarkstown in Rockland County.



The massive reptile seen in Congers Lake was identified as a native black snake, according to the state Department of Conservation.



The average length of the snake is 3 to 5 feet long.



They are not venomous and don't pose a threat to humans.



Residents may see them slithering around as the weather gets warmer, according to experts.
