The Westchester County Bomb Squad swarmed a Greenburgh shopping center after a grenade was found today.
While cleaning out a vacant store at 239 Tarrytown Road, a landlord discovered the grenade lying on the floor behind a dresser. "I wasn't going to touch it. We called police and they came and looked at it and said it was real," says Nick Prisco.
Investigators say at one point the grenade was live, but now it's inert and won't explode. The grenade was taken away by the bomb squad.
Prisco says the store has been vacant for years and was last occupied by a "Cash for Gold" store. Officials are looking into how long the grenade may have been there.
