Christmas is arriving early in the Hudson Valley.
Tickets went on sale Friday for Westchester’s Winter Wonderland Drive-Thru Holiday Light Extravaganza.
The 2020 event had a great turnout of people who attended through the holiday season at Kensico Dam Plaza.
For the 2021 version, they are extending hours and expecting to exceed last year’s 100,000 visitors.
Santa is even making an appearance to kick off the holiday season.
More than a mile of holiday lights will be set up at Kensico Dam Plaza with new electrifying and whimsical displays.
It’s the 8th annual event, but second annual drive-thru. In 2020, the Westchester Parks Foundation debuted the drive-thru concept because of the pandemic, and this holiday season, it’s back by popular demand.
“We really wanted to bring that magic back again in a safe way since there is still some uncertainty this year in 2021,” says Christine La Porta, deputy executive director of the Westchester Parks Foundation. “We really feel like people loved the event last year that we couldn’t see doing it another way.”
The holiday light show kicks off Nov. 26 and lasts until Jan. 2 and is on every night of the week.
