Jury selection is continuing Tuesday for a Wawayanda man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend in Orange County more than two decades ago.
Edward Holley’s attorney says this step in the former cold case, which began on Monday, will likely continue until the end of the week.
Holley was a longtime suspect in the 2003 Town of Wallkill murder of Megan McDonald but wasn’t arrested until 2023 when police say new evidence surfaced.
Attorneys say jury selection is expected to involve hundreds of potential jurors because media attention surrounding the high-profile case for decades will make it difficult to find 12 people to sit on the jury.
Opening statements are scheduled to begin on Monday.
