Hundreds arrested during 3 days of protests at Barclays Center: Barclays Center is one of the spots that protesters have returned to over the past several nights for demonstrations following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Hundreds of people made their way to Barclays Center Sunday, holding signs and chanting.
New Haven community gathers around police headquarters to protest George Floyd’s death: Authorities say nearly 1,000 individuals gathered in downtown New Haven Sunday to protest George Floyd's death. They say the crowd gathered in front of City Hall, occupied I-95 and went to the New Haven Police Department.Police say they responded to protestors blocking traffic at the merge of I-95, I-91 and the Oak Street Connector around 1:15 p.m. They say highway traffic was blocked until about 2:45 p.m.
Family safely escapes fire at Ortley Beach rental homeA family escaped from a fire that broke out at a rental home in Ortley Beach Sunday morning. There were six people inside the home when the fire started around 5 a.m. Neighbors got the family out of the home safely, but the home was heavily damaged.
Police: Hillcrest man arrested in connection to double homicide:  Police say a Hillcrest man was arrested in connection to a double homicide. They say 32-year-old Robert Williams is accused of shooting a mother and her daughter inside their Valley Cottage home earlier this week.The victims were identified as 63-year-old Wanda Castor and 27-year-old Kathleen Castor. An infant found crying nearby the incident, who is believed to be Kathleen Castor's daughter, was unharmed.
Suffolk police arrest driver in deadly hit-and-run crash in Dix Hills:  Suffolk police say they arrested a man who left the scene of a deadly crash in Dix Hills Saturday night. They say Romero Crossman was driving on Straight Path and Seaman Neck Road around 11 p.m. when he hit a 51-year-old pedestrian and took off. The victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police tracked down Crossman and arrested him near his home.
