A jackknifed tractor-trailer completely shut down the northbound lanes of I-87 in Spring Valley this morning.
Police say the accident happened around 9 a.m., between exits 14A and 14B. A hazmat crew had to be called to the scene because of a fuel spill.
The backup was stretched for miles in both directions for hours. All lanes were fully reopened around 12:30 p.m.
The driver suffered minor injuires.
