Passionate Israel and Palestinian supporters turned out for rallies in Times Square Sunday evening as Israel continues its ground offensive in Gaza.
About 5,000 people from all over the tri-state area traveled to New York City to take part in the peaceful pro-Israel demonstration on 42nd Street.
Down the block, a peaceful pro-Palestinian rally was also held, drawing in dozens.
The rallies come as the death toll continues to climb in the conflict. As of Sunday evening, at least 432 Palestinians were killed and more than 3,000 wounded in the past two weeks. The overall death toll on the Israeli side rose to 20, including 18 soldiers, along with dozens of wounded troops, during that period.
The United States is calling on Palestinian militants to accept a cease-fire agreement with Israel.
