The Irvington School District has appointed an acting superintendent as its current superintendent is on medical leave.
Dr. Joel Adelberg assumed the role of acting superintendent Monday on his first day of work.
Adelberg brings a wealth of experience in the field of education, with a career spanning over 40 years. He most recently retired from his position as superintendent of Bedford Schools.
The district's current superintendent, Dr. Kristopher Harrison, is on medical leave. The district has indicated that the timing of his return remains uncertain at this time.
