The village of Irvington is honoring four local heroes after they saved a woman's life.
Police officers Ryan Weiss, David Walsh and James Eggoff, along with Fire Chief Chris DePaoli, were honored by village officials last night for stopping a violent domestic dispute at the Irvington train station.
In April, the four were able to subdue and arrest a man, who they say stabbed the mother of his children with a knife. "Ms. Henry's life mattered, the defendant's life mattered, or I should say the suspect's life mattered, along with the three officers. Their lives really mattered here and that's what counted. They acted professionally, courteously for all who were involved," says Police Chief Michael Cerone.
The three police officers received a merit badge they will wear on their uniforms, and the fire chief received a proclamation from the mayor.
